Direct Contracts

Direct Contracts let freelancers use Upwork’s secure escrow payments feature and create contracts with clients who are not on Upwork.

Project: Some of our freelancers work with clients outside of Upwork, so we wanted to let them use Upwork’s escrow payment protection feature in these cases.

My role: As Lead Content Designer, I wrote and edited all the UX content on each screen.

Stakeholders: Product Manager, Designer

Results: Launched in mid 2020, Direct Contracts quickly became one of Upwork’s top new products.
